We all know how important it is to get new patients…on a regular basis.
That’s a given, right?
It seems pretty obvious that a successful chiropractic practice is one that has a steady stream of new patients flowing into it each and every month. In marketing terms, this is called the “front end.”
But what isn’t so obvious to many chiropractors is the easiest way to lose a patient. Want to know how to do that? It’s simple…
Just ignore them.
Ignoring your patients is the easiest way to lose your patients.
Even though you want to spend more time focusing on “new patients,” you can’t ignore your “existing patients.” You have to have some strategies in place that are designed to keep in touch with your patient base and try to generate repeat business and referrals from the patients who have already been in your office. In marketing terms, this is called the “back end.”
The best businesses focus on BOTH the front end (i.e. new patients), and the back end (existing patients).
Make sense?
So the question is, how good are your follow up systems or strategies? How good is the “back end” in your business? What are you doing to maximizing your ROI with your “existing patients?”
If your answer is, “not much,” then you are losing patients and have the dreaded “revolving door” practice. Not good.
The bottom line is you need to take some time to develop some “back end” strategies. You simply cannot afford to be losing patients who already know you, like you, and trust you to a chiropractor down the street.
For those of you who generate leads, do you know what the BEST lead is? It’s an existing patient, NOT someone who’s never met you before.
So think about how you want to keep in touch with your patients. Do you want to send a monthly newsletter? Great, do it.
Is a newsletter too expensive and time consuming? Okay, then do email marketing. It’s inexpensive, you can put a lot of it on autopilot, and it’s very powerful. No matter what you choose, just do something!
Our office does email marketing. I use the ChiroContact Chiropractic Email Marketing System and it’s been a great return on investment and a great way to stay connected with our patients on a regular and consistent basis. I recommend you check it out.
Just remember, business is not just about sales, it’s about relationships…and the better job you do at creating long term relationships with your patients, the better your practice will be!
